Education for Inclusive Environments

(Dual Endorsement Outreach Program)

Educators (e.g., general elementary teachers and special education teachers) in today’s world need a broad understanding of the fundamental right and value of including all children from a variety of backgrounds; including, but not limited to, socio-economic status, language, ethnicity, and ability. This major and professional training program focuses upon educational inclusion for our nation’s increasingly diverse population.

Therefore, this program provides candidates with the understandings and skills necessary to navigate the complex systems of teaching and learning within the school and community environments. This program also focuses upon skills necessary to meet the needs of students with high-incidence disabilities who are typically taught in regular elementary classrooms.
